Beginning her career in 2008, New Zealand based designer Cookie H. uses her self-titled label to create a series of intricate dresses, paying homage to her Chinese roots by using traditional vegetable dyeing techniques as well as crafting her collections out of silks, linens and wools, often imported from Guangdong. Each item is handcrafted with a heavy emphasis on angular cuts and silk detailing, to express Cookie's belief that garments find a soul through their imperfections.
